Patricia Schramm has spent most of her career working for better relations and greater understanding between the United States and Switzerland.  She joined the American Swiss Foundation in 2003 as its President and has worked to continue its long-standing mission to preserve and strengthen the historic friendship between the two countries while expanding and adapting its programs and communications to the changing demands of our times.

From 1996-2002, Patricia was Cultural Attaché of the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York and served on the Board of Directors of the Swiss Institute New York.  Formerly, she worked in the External Affairs Department of Novartis and as Executive Director of the American Swiss Foundation.  

Patricia is a member of the Women's Foreign Policy Group, based in Washington, D.C., and “The Chiefs,” an association of chief executive officers of leading nonprofit foreign-policy organizations in New York.  

A graduate of the University of Zürich, Patricia holds a Master's degree in English, Philosophy, and German Literature.  She studied at Harvard College and was a Fellow of the Remarque Forum at New York University.
