Long time New Jersey labor leader Donald Norcross (YL '06) was sworn in on January 19th to represent New Jersey's 5th district in the state senate.  Mr. Norcross was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly in November 2009 and was selected by a unanimous vote of the district's Democratic committee members to replace Senator Dana Redd, who resigned her seat to become mayor of Camden.  He also serves on the board of the United Way of Camden and as President of the Southern New Jersey AFL-CIO Central Labor Council.
